1. Penmon Beach
Penmon beach is located just north west of the Penmon village and is a short drive from the fun filled town of Amlwch, on the Llyn peninsula. The beach is on the Anglesey Coastal path and is a popular place for dog walking. It also boasts a small beach café and some lovely views.
It has the most wonderful views of the rocky headlands on either side of the bay. The beach in summer is usually very popular with windsurfers, kite surfers and boxers and is a great place for children to play.
2. Beaumaris Beach
Beaumaris beach is located on the west coast of Anglesey, right beside the town of Beaumaris. The beach is a long stretch of sandy, with a lovely promenade that runs all the way to the castle. There are some great places to eat and shop along the promenade.
It is a very quiet beach, so it’s great for families to have some fun and relaxation. In the summer months, the beach is popular for surfing. The beach is stony in some areas but the water is good for swimming in and plenty of parking at the side of the beach.
3. Red Wharf Bay
Red wharf bay is a beautiful bay situated in the west cost of Anglesey, between the Llyn peninsula and the Snowdonia mountain range. This place is popular with surfers, windsurfers and kite surfers in the summer, and also because of the superb views of the mountains.
Red Wharf Bay is located in Anglesey, to the west of the Llyn peninsula, the bay is named after the red sandstone cliffs that surround this beautiful beach.
4. Llanddona Beach
Llanddona is a popular beach on the west coast of Anglesey, to the south of the Llyn peninsula. It is a sandy beach with a sheltering headland and is backed by sand dunes that can get quite high in the summer months. It is a popular surfing place with surfing schools and hire shops located on the beach.
It offers a variety of activities and is great for families and young children. There is a small amusement park, a small beach shop and great views of the mountains and the Island of Ynys Lochtyn.
5. Moelfre Beach
Moelfre is a west-facing beach, located on the west coast of Anglesey, to the north of the Llyn peninsula. It offers some great views of the mountains.
The beach is sandy in places. It also has a raised pebble ridge and a small stream that flows from the west side of the bay. This stream is usually quite small, but can get larger after heavy rain.
It’s a relatively quiet beach and is great for swimming, snorkeling and windsurfing in the summer. There is a small beach café, a car park and small toilets.
